One can't help but be overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of this city's marbled streets and baroque buildings. The ancient walls protected a civilised republic for five centuries. Dubrovnik is now a major tourist attraction and one cannot be surprised why that is. This walled city is quite awe inspiring.
Looking down on Dubrovnik from the cable car high above.
The Stradun, the Old City's main street.
Big Onofrio's Fountain.
Franciscan Monastery.
St Blaise Church.
Sponza Palace.
Chapel of Annunciation.
Church of Confraternity St Rosario.
An unnamed church.
Inside the second oldest synagogue in Europe. (Prague is the oldest and the Budapest synagogue is the biggest). This one in Dubrovnik dates back to the 15th century. The current congregation numbers 35.
Another view from the cable car, at the side of the old town.
The beach.
And to finish off, two images of food. First my lovely stuffed squid I had at Konoba Ribar
and something you don't often see.
