A dish of pigs' ears for a pre-dinner snack with a glass of rose was very welcome while we waited for a particular, recommended restaurant to open at the ungodly hour of 8:30pm. It was raining cats and dogs outside and we climbed the many steps leading to the centro historico and waited for our chosen restaurant to open its doors to the hungry customers.
The most difficult thing to cope with throughout Spain is the fact that life simply does not begin until 10:00am. In hotels, if you are lucky, breakfast starts at 8:30am which is not convenient for those travelers like us who like to get away early.
This little dish of tomato relish with an unpeeled clove of garlic was part of breakfast at our hotel. You are meant to peel the garlic and rub it on your bread then pile the tomatoes on.

The dining room at the Rincon del Churro, the restaurant up in the historical village. It is a lovely looking restaurant and the food has traditional dishes but all a trifle too greasy for our tastes. We still enjoyed our meal and they served a very lovely red wine.

Traditional dish of crumbs. Actually, we had that as an entree on a fixed price menu and it was delicious - fried breadcrumbs mixed with chorizo and grapes.
Not ordered by us but by a man next to us at another cafe. An enormous bread roll the like of which I have seldom seen.
This is not a curiosity but my very nicely presented and very tasty dinner tonight. It was described as scrambled eggs with blood sausage but in fact it was a delightful mixture of eggs, rice, pine nuts, tomatoes and blood sausage. It was a lovely way to end our stay in this beautiful village.
We like trying the culariny curious also:we didn't like pigs ears but the fried breadcrumbs dound Yummo, as follows the eggs. Imagine the wines would be lovely. Enjoy! Annie.
