A vizsla in Oslo

Today we ventured out with Charlie on public transport to go to the Viking Ship Museum.  Here we took turns going inside while the other waited outside with Charlie. We got there before the crowds but once the tourist buses arrived Charlie became the most photographed dog in the city.

Charlie and Andrew on the bus.

Charlie overwhelming me with his affection.  He has very strong herding instincts and he gets anxious when either of us go somewhere.  He likes to keep us together under his watchful eye.

Charlie is a fully male dog, not sterilised.  I asked Jane why she does not put him out to stud, handsome boy that he is.  Apparently in Norway, Charlie needs a bird catching certificate to prove his hunting credentials. before he can act as a stud dog.   This, in spite of the fact that Hungarian vizslas are specifically bred as sporting dogs - retrievers and pointers.  But this is what Wikipedia says about the vizsla: "all he wants is to be loved".  So very Charlie.

While on the subject of dogs, here is a sign around the corner from the apartment outside a men's clothing shop.  Hopefully it is meant for the owners to restrain their urinating dogs, or can Norwegian dogs read?
