On our way to Dubrovnik

Back on the main Dalmatian coast road driving to Dubrovnik, one of the nicest towns I have ever seen, so I am really looking forward to it tomorrow.  I was here 45 years ago. It was bombarded and damaged in the Balkans War in the 1990s but it has been lovingly restored I understand.

A small beach on the way below the road.

Our accommodation, which we uncharacteristically booked online, seemed very very reasonably priced, especially for Dubrovnik which reputedly has the highest cost in the country according to the Lonely Planet.  But, there was a price to pay beside cost.  It was hellishly hard to find.  Not only were the streets very narrow and winding and our GPS can't cope with streets where there are steps so can't be navigated.  All that aside, once we found the street, the numbers of the houses are higgledy piggledy ie 23 then 4!!!!!!

This is one of the streets we navigated - which turned out to be the wrong street so at the end we had to somehow turn around and come back again. It was ghastly.

Tomorrow morning we are catching the bus to Dubrovnik.  It takes 20 minutes to get into the old city.
