The small town of Hoorn north of Heiloo and Alkmaar has a charming harbour and is a former fishing village. It is a very attractive small town as I hope the photos below attest.
On the way there I took a photo of the ever-present and always very picturesque Dutch windmills and the carpet of flowers which are everywhere, each more attractive than the last. I need to capture the wonderful fields of orange tulips but there is never anywhere to park near them so I can take a photo.

On the way home we passed by the town of Bergen where we had a look at the artificial ski slopes consisting of built up sand dunes. This is where Sieska has skiing lessons in summer to maintain her skiing prowess.
Very picturesque. :-)
